Import Duties and Fees
In the charge 2 form, depending on your region and delivery carrier selection, you may have the option to send using DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) terms (see below for more information on these options):
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid) Shipping – Service Update
Understanding the difference between DDU and DDP
When selecting a DDP option in your shipping instructions/charge 2, you may see in the Charge 2 Summary a field called "Import Duties and Fees". Specifically, this includes:
- Any Import/Customs/Exice duties that have been applied to imports coming into your country.
- Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) applied by your countries customs office.
How Import Duties & Taxes Are Calculated
Import duties and taxes are not a fixed percentage.
They are calculated based on factors such as:
HS (Harmonized System) codes
Item category and material
Country of origin
Declared value
Local customs regulations
Because of this, the final amount may differ by item, even within the same shipment.
US-Specific Information
For US-bound shipments, additional tariffs or taxes (such as IEEPA-related measures) may apply depending on the item category.
You can check estimated US import tariffs by HS code using the following tool:
