How to pay for FedEx/UPS/DHL Import Duties and Fees (USA only)

At FROM JAPAN, you can choose either DDU shipping (duties and customs fees paid upon delivery) or DDP shipping (duties and customs fees paid in advance), depending on the destination and shipping method.

⚠️ Please note that as of February 2026, all shipments to the United States via FedEx will be sent as DDP only. For DDU you can select a different delivery carrier. 


Delivery Carrier(USA Specific)

FROM JAPAN uses the following carriers for international shipments to the US:

  • FedEx

  • DHL

  • UPS

Please note that payment methods and notification procedures differ depending on the carrier.


Timing and Payment Method for Import Duties & Fees

  • The carrier will contact you by email, SMS, phone, or at the time of delivery.

  • Please follow the instructions provided to complete payment either online or at the time of delivery.

  • If payment is not completed, the shipment may be held, delayed, returned, or discarded.
