Can I order knives or swords and ship them internationally?

Regarding bladed weapons and swords, the availability of purchase and shipping varies depending on the type of item.

■ Items that can be shipped (conditions apply)

Most bladed weapons intended for everyday use, such as the following, can be shipped:

・Kitchen knives

・Utility knives, craft knives

・Tools (saws, etc.)

*However, depending on the size, shape, and shipping conditions, shipping may not be possible or the item may be returned.

Please note that items with long blades (approximately 15cm or longer) are often difficult to ship.

■ Items that cannot be shipped internationally (cannot be purchased)

The following items, which have the characteristics of weapons, cannot be shipped internationally:

* Swords such as Japanese swords, military swords, daggers, short swords, and daggers (cannot be shipped regardless of blade length)

* Butterfly knives, daggers, and other items intended for use as weapons

* Items requiring "owner change registration" and "registration certificate" under the Firearms and Swords Control Law cannot be shipped domestically or internationally.

■ Shipping Methods (Reference)

For international shipping of bladed items, handling standards vary depending on the shipping company.

Shipping Company	Characteristics and Warnings
FedEx / UPS	Tend to be relatively flexible in their approach. However, if the HS code or item name is inaccurate, the shipment may be held or returned during customs clearance.
DHL	Regulations are strict, and handling is often restricted. If the item description includes terms like "knife," it may be automatically detected and put on hold for review.

* Even if there are no issues at the origin of the shipment, delivery may be restricted due to import regulations in transit countries or the destination country.

■ Important Notes

Please be aware that if you place an order by mistake, a cancellation fee may apply, and depending on the seller's regulations, cancellation may not be possible at all.
